WhatsApp’s new privacy Millions of WhatsApp users have started receiving a notification from popular messaging service platform WhatsApp asking them to accept its new terms of service and privacy policy by February 8, or lose access to the app.
The Facebook-owned platform’s in-app notification, sent to Android and iOS users, mentions key updates, such as how the company handles user data, how businesses can use Facebook’s hosted services to store and manage their WhatsApp conversations, and how the company partners with Facebook to offer integrations across its products.
WhatsApp’s new terms and privacy policy will come into effect on February 8, 2021. Users will have to accept these terms and changes in order to continue using their WhatsApp accounts after the deadline. Those who do not accept the new privacy policy will no longer be able to use the app. Basically, WhatsApp has left users with no choice.

This means that you will be sharing your data with Facebook.
“When a user forwards media in a message, we Namibia WhatsApp Number List temporarily store that media in encrypted form on our servers to help with more efficient delivery of additional transfers,” WhatsApp said on its website.
The new terms of service and privacy policy also make sharing information with Facebook mandatory for WhatsApp users. Before the update, existing users had the option to opt out of sharing their WhatsApp account information with Facebook.
You can’t stop WhatsApp from sharing information with Facebook
WhatsApp currently shares certain categories of information with Facebook Companies.
“We may use the information we receive from them, and WhatsApp Number Database they may use the information we share with them, to help operate, provide, improve, understand, personalize, support and market our services and their offerings, including Facebook Company products,” WhatsApp said.
“The information we share with other Facebook companies includes your account registration information (such as your phone number), transaction data, service-related information, information about how you interact with others (including businesses) when using our services, mobile device information, your IP Bulk Database address, and may include other information identified in the Privacy Policy section titled “Information We Collect” or obtained upon notice to you or based on your consent,” it adds.
WhatsApp said it collects user information to provide services and personalize the user experience
The information you share with WhatsApp that will be shared is your phone number, application logs, status messages, profile name, profile picture, and IP address.
