WhatsApp New features we expect to see very soon

WhatsApp developers have been hard at work developing new features for the messaging app and making tweaks to iron out its quirks — from dark mode to animated stickers — but what’s next?

WABetaInfo experts specialize in combing through the latest WhatsApp betas for signs of new tools and changes coming in future updates. These are usually spotted well before they’re available, even to beta testers. It could be a set of new icons or code for a different menu hidden in the installation files, ready to go, but currently unused. Not all of these features may roll out in the final version of WhatsApp, and some may look very different, but these

Simplified storage management

WhatsApp itself may not use much space, but when you have a lot of active chats, all the downloaded files can soon mount up. You can delete all the media saved on your device, but you may New Zealand WhatsApp Number List want to save snaps and videos among memes and other junk files.

Fortunately, things should become much more manageable, with a new control panel specifically designed to manage the space taken up by WhatsApp and its associated files on your device.

This new dashboard will let you see at a glance how  much storage you’re currently using and how much is free. It will also highlight any particularly large files so you can decide whether to keep them or ditch them.

It will also be possible to see how much space is being used by each of your chats. We don’t know yet if it will be possible to delete files downloaded during a particular chat, but that would make a lot of sense.

Search for stickers

A picture is worth a thousand words, especially when it’s a dancing cartoon bear. WhatsApp stickers are a fun way to liven up your chats, but while you can choose to filter them by theme (happy, sad, angry, greetings, etc.), it can sometimes be difficult to find one that sets just the right tone.

It looks like this is going to change soon with the WhatsApp Number Database addition of a search tool specifically for stickers. It seems like this should be pretty simple to implement, but we think it’s actually quite time-consuming as it will involve adding search keywords to every sticker currently available for download.

It’ll be extremely handy when it arrives, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it takes a few months before we can track down exactly the right smiling cat sticker.

Easier access to the camera

When WhatsApp’s parent company, Facebook, launched Messenger Rooms (which lets up to 50 people participate in an ad-hoc video chat), it replaced one of WhatsApp’s camera icons with a shortcut to the new service. While there’s still a button to access your phone’s camera next to the text input box, there’s no longer any way to quickly open the camera if you accidentally tap the button to attach a file from your phone.

Thankfully, it seems that WhatsApp is now downgrading and bringing back the second camera shortcut, sure, this means the share panel is bigger and a little less tidy, but when you absolutely have to share a snap in the moment, this could be invaluable.

We’ve all done it – typed a message into WhatsApp Bulk Database and hit send. Only to realise we’ve sent it to the wrong group. Depending on the content, it’s then a case of apologising for the weird non-sequitur or rushing to delete it before the ticks turn blue.

Now it seems that the developers are working on a new feature to save your blushes. Which will allow you to set a custom background for each conversation. Never again will you accidentally send a message. Meant for your partner to your coworkers or parents.
