With WhatsApp introducing a host of new features this year, such as disappearing messages, an updated look and more, users were wondering what could be next from the company.
They didn’t have to wait long, as a beta version of a native app on the Microsoft Store was released for Windows 10 and Windows 11.
You can try it out right now and decide whether you prefer to use WhatsApp on your laptop or tablet. But so far, the app has many features that you probably use on your smartphone every day anyway, so you might prefer to keep using the app.
However, the question will be whether a dedicated app on Windows is necessary, when your phone is at hand, in addition to being able to use WhatsApp on your web browser.
Analysis: Turning the WhatsApp dial to 11
While we ironically use our web browsers for more than Belgium WhatsApp Number List just browsing the web, having a dedicated app for WhatsApp can allow for more functionality compared to using a web page.
The test app shows this, with handwriting features and notifications that work with Windows 10 and 11, as well as Focus Assist.

However, time will tell whether users will be more comfortable using an app on the desktop, rather than through a web browser, or even through their phone.
WhatsApp is constantly working behind the scenes to add new features to its service, and today we’re talking about one such thing. The beta version of WhatsApp for Android now has an option WhatsApp Number Database to hide your “last seen” status from specific people.
The feature has been in active development for a few months at this point, and now it’s finally available to a subset of those in the beta program.
That means it’s coming soon, hopefully
To everyone using the beta, and then eventually to the version of WhatsApp that everyone uses, but there’s a caveat here, in that “soon” could mean “in a few months,” if we’re to judge by some of WhatsApp’s recent feature rollouts. It really is one of the more cautious companies when it comes to adding things to its stable app, that’s for sure.
Anyway, at some point in the future (let’s go with that), anyone Bulk Database using WhatsApp will be able to set their “last seen” status to be seen by everyone, their contacts, their contacts except a blacklist of specific people, and no one. The other options were already there, the new one is “My contacts except…”.
When you select this, you can choose who to disable “last seen” access for. As usual in WhatsApp-land, if you disable “last seen” for someone, you won’t be able to see their “last seen” either.
