Notification appears every time you enter the app. But, if a contact enters your chat and you are on WhatsApp at that moment, he or she will see ‘Online’ below your name. This way, he or she will know that you will see the message he or she sends at that very moment, at least that’s what it would assume. So, in case you want to go unnoticed on WhatsApp, you will only have to hide the ‘Online’.
How to hide ‘Online’?
