Managed MPLS network for streaming platform

Riedel Networks is the connectivity partner of Dyn Media, a streaming platform for live broadcasts and reports for sports such as handball, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and hockey. The production takes place completely remotely and relies on fiber optic connectivity.

Riedel Networks and Dyn Media launch their joint project in December 2022. This will make Dyn Media the largest fiber optic customer for sports broadcasts in Germany for the next six years, according to the partners.

Riedel Networks’ 24×7 Network Operations Center proactively Mexico Phone Number List monitors the entire Dyn network. Even in the venues, the company uses redundant paths to route the signal to the SMPTE handover boxes, which the teams for outside production simply plug into. The entire network is a 24×7 fully manage service and 100 percent supports Dyn Media’s remote production approach. This makes it possible to bring the entire system to the site for an outside broadcast in a single van. Only a few people are need on site at the venues to set it up and operate it.

A 1 Gbit cable was laid at each venue

Which is connecte to a 10 Gbit ring so that six camera signals per game and up to 14 games can be transmitt simultaneously. The data is transmitted from the 10 Gbit ring to the remote cell phone number listing production site using Riedel Networks, where the programs are edite and produce for the streaming customers. Within the first few months, 400 games have already been produce via the MPLS network.

“By using our private IP network with MPLS,

We are able to assign the appropriate priorities and bandwidths to the different traffic flows using a sophisticat Quality of Service ( QoS ) concept,” says Michael Martens, CEO of Riedel Bulk Database Networks. “Nothing had to be reinvente for this project, but the result is something new – we have set up a typical MPLS network to push the boundaries in sports and bring fans even closer to their favorite sport.”

Of course, a remote production model always presents challenges. For example, the composition of the leagues changes every year and new venues often have to be integrat within a few months. But thanks to their previous experience, Dyn Media and Riedel Networks are well positione to do this quickly and efficiently and to continue to grow.
