But its main focus, far from a new verification system and monetization features, has been Spaces, its take on live chat rooms held in the app or on the web.
It’s Twitter’s ongoing mission to test new features while staying true to what the social platform has been about for so long – hosting discussions.
However, while the focus of the feature and its constant improvements have been admirable, I wonder if it can maintain the momentum for the next 12 months.
Give users space
For nearly thirty years, Internet users have been talking in groups in a variety of places—from chat rooms to forums to messaging apps like MSN Messenger. Podcasts have also gotten into the act, with hosting platforms and shows streaming their recordings live with chat rooms, IIRC, so the hosts can answer questions toward the end of the episode.

While this feature has been getting stronger with constant improvements appearing every month since its debut earlier this year, there is still one problem with Spaces.
It needs other basic features to shine, such as publishing a space on a podcast platform and the ability to use it on other devices such as iPad or game consoles.
