AVM FRITZ! Repeater Installation as a mesh repeater is very simple: Briefly press the red Connect button on the front. Then walk to the FRITZ!Box and press the Connect button there as well. After that, both devices are linked to each other.
This means that with such a mesh connection, the FRITZ!Box automatically sends all relevant WLAN settings to the repeater, such as the WLAN network name alias SSID, WLAN key, WLAN guest network, and also the WLAN timer, if it has been activated.
The FRITZ!Repeater 6000 can be easily connected to all newer FRITZ!Boxes: Press the red Connect button on the left side of the repeater and the white Connect button on the right side of the Fritzbox: Shortly afterwards, both radios are mesh-connected.

The upper FRITZ!Repeater 6000 is connected to the FRITZ!Box 6660 via WLAN and mesh. The lower one is connected via LAN cable and without mesh.

The multi-gigabit LAN socket
The FRITZ!Repeater 6000 has a normal 1-gigabit LAN socket. It also has a multi-gigabit LAN port . This can be set to 10, 100, 1,000 and 2,500 megabits. This is the first time that AVM has Bulk Database implemented this on a repeater. Otherwise, the Fritzbox 6660 Cable was the first AVM WLAN router with a 2.5 GbE port.

The biggest highlight is certainly the WLAN equipment: In the 2.4 GHz band, AVM promises 1200 megabits gross. In the 5 GHz band, 2x 2400 megabits are promised, namely in the lower and middle bands. If you add these three speeds together, you get 6000 Mbps. And that’s exactly why it’s called AVM FRITZ!Repeater 6000.
