Everything you need to know about WhatsApp’s new vacation mode

Everything you need Facebook continues to use Android users to test new features for WhatsApp, and it’s happening again. The latest beta of the popular chat app include references to a feature in development regarding archive chats.

In the past, WhatsApp has shown signs of an upcoming feature that was previously known as “Ignore Archive Chats.” This option was discontinue. But it has now reare its head in a new guise.

Ignoring archive chats has now reappear

In the latest beta version of the WhatsApp app for Hong Kong WhatsApp Number Lists Android. Where it’s call Vacation Mode. At first glance, this might initially seem like a new “out of office” style option for WhatsApp chats, but the reality is slightly different.

Despite the name change, the feature will work much the same as it did under its old name. Vacation Mode changes the way archive chats work so that conversations that have been archive won’t be automatically unarchive if a participant replies to them.

Many users expect Vacation Mode to be a way to avoid WhatsApp Number Database being disturb by messages while on vacation, and it kind of does. In truth, the new mode will give users the ability to make Archiving do what you expect it to: archive chats and keep them out of the way so they don’t bother you.

WhatsApp explaining that it gives users the ability Bulk Database to “move chats you want to keep mute here,” adding that “chats with new messages will not return to the main chat list.” This helps keep chat lists tidy, but with archive chats place at the top of that list, those conversations remain accessible.
