What comes after The introduction of 5G is only just beginning. Meanwhile, researchers are already working on the next generation – the 6G network. Due to the demand for high data rates, research is already looking for solutions to open up frequency bands above 100 GHz. The scientists at the Leibniz Institute for Innovative Microelectronics (IHP) are working on this, among others.
The development of 6G
By researching new, high frequency bands in the sub-terahertz spectrum (30-300 GHz), Nebojsa Maletic’s team aims to find areas of unused bandwidth within the framework of IEEE MTTW2020 in order to advance the development of the 6G network.
